2. JOB PURPOSE:
Perform periodic cost, management accounting & reporting activities to ensure inventory is well governed, costed and accounted for accurately.  Perform periodic inventory valuation, product costing, coordinating inventory counts, inventory adjustments, calculating cost savings, evaluating operational improvements, management accounting reporting, variance analysis, input on financial accounting / finance policies and procedures. Calculating measures of performance, cost control, variance analysis to support decision making.
4. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Description
Reporting
·        Prepare management information reports in order to ensure that Senior Management have the relevant performance management information needed to support strategic decision-making.
·        Ensure timely and effective preparation of monthly product cost sheet, process-wise for DRI, Billet and rebar production.
·        Preparation of monthly product cost report presentation
·        Preparation of monthly report presentation for CMO and production departments, process-wise, unit-wise, covering processing cost, specific consumptions, input price trend, etc. 
·        Assist in cost variance analysis working, co-ordinate with production departments for reasons for variance.
Continuous Improvement (Cost benefits analysis) 
·        Develop formats to capture requisite data for systematic analysis of plant operations related cost saving initiatives.
·        Provide accurate and up-to-date input price and other cost details for operational analysis. Co-ordinate with business functions to ensure correctness of the data.
·        Prepare accurate, timely and cost-effective management accounts and highlight variances so that management can take effective action to improve operating performances.
Inventory Accounting functions
·        Physical tag adjustment of product shipments and inventory adjustments.
·        Inventory write off/disposal – analyse and prepare papers for management approval.
·        Prepare monthly overhead absorption rate working.
  • Co-ordinate physical inventory count and verification process.
  • Assist in dealing with internal auditor and statutory auditors for inventory and material accounting related issues.
  • Providing support on material accounting related issues to user departments such as Production Planning, Plant units, Procurement and Warehouse, Maintenance department, Supply chain & logistic department, etc.

 Policies and Procedures

  • Development of costing system for new products & processes.
  • Preparation of procedure document for activities related to costing, inventory etc, its continuous review and update.

  • Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement and sustainability
    of systems, processes and practices considering global standards, productivity improvement
    and cost reduction.
Reporting
  • Assist in the preparation of timely and accurate statements and reports to meet department
    requirements, policies, and quality standards.
Quality, Health, Safety & Environment
  • Comply with all relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures,
    and controls to ensure a healthy and safe work environment.

5. COMMUNICATIONS & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:

§  Day to day interaction with manufacturing plant units, Production Planning, Procurement & warehouse, Supply Chain & Logistics, Maintenance department, IT etc for various matters.

6. Context, Work environment & DECISION-MAKING AUTHORITY:
§  Key decisions having significant impact on the department are referred to the department manager for approval before implementation.

7. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:
Minimum Qualifications:
·        University Degree in Finance
·        CA, CMA or CIMA qualification would be preferable.
Minimum Experience:
·        8 years’ experience in Management Accounting in a manufacturing organisation. Steel Industry experience would be preferable.
