POSITION: HEAD OF MEDIUM SECTION & STEEL RAIL ROLLING MILL WITH AUTOMATION & AI EXPERTISE (HEAD OF ROLLING MILL)

JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsibilities:

 Leadership: Provide strategic direction and effective leadership to the medium section and steel rail rolling mill team, leveraging approximately 15 years of experience in leading steel mills. Foster a culture of collaboration, safety, and continuous improvement.

 Operational Excellence: Oversee and optimize the entire rolling process for medium sections and steel rails, drawing on extensive experience to ensure efficiency, quality control, and adherence to production schedules. Utilize commissioning expertise to implement best practices for cost-effective production.

 Process Enhancement: Apply deep industry knowledge and commissioning experience to identify opportunities for process improvement. Implement innovative techniques to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and streamline operations, both for sections and rails.

 Quality Assurance: Utilize years of expertise, including commissioning background, to maintain high-quality standards in the production of steel sections and rails. Oversee inspections and implement measures to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer specifications.

 Team Management: Leverage a wealth of experience to recruit, train, and develop a skilled and motivated team for both medium section and steel rail production. Foster a positive work environment that encourages skill enhancement, teamwork, and employee engagement.

 Equipment Maintenance: Collaborate with maintenance teams to ensure the proper functioning of rolling mill equipment for both sections and rails, utilizing commissioning experience. Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime.

 Safety Compliance: Draw on extensive knowledge of safety regulations and procedures, including commissioning safety protocols, to uphold and enforce a secure working environment for both medium section and steel rail production. Conduct regular safety audits, training programs, and implement measures to prevent accidents and injuries.

 Budget Management: Utilize 15 years of experience and commissioning expertise to develop and manage budgets for both the medium section and steel rail rolling mills.Ensure efficient resource allocation and cost control.

 Customer Relations: Leverage years of experience to collaborate with sales and marketing teams, understanding customer requirements, addressing concerns, and maintaining strong relationships to meet customer expectations for both sections and rails.

 Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and market demands for both medium sections and steel rails. Introduce improvements in processes and technologies, drawing on extensive experience and commissioning expertise to stay competitive in the steel manufacturing sector.

 ERP Utilization: Possess proficiency in utilizing ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) solutions for process optimization, cost control, and overall operational efficiency.

 Automation and AI Integration: Showcase substantial experience in implementing state-of-the-art automation systems and incorporating AI solutions to enhance productivity, quality, and efficiency in steel manufacturing processes.

 Exposure to ROLL PASS DESIGN and Roll shop management: conversant with various roll pass designs applied in section and rail mills.

 Document Management: Develop and maintain various process related records for analysis and improvement.

QUALIFICATION :

 Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering.
 Management qualification (MBA or equivalent) would be an added advantage.
 Approximately 15 years of experience in leading steel mills, with a focus on commissioning.
 Extensive experience in medium section and steel rail rolling mill operations, with a proven track record of successful leadership.
 Strong understanding of metallurgy, rolling mill processes, and quality control measures.
 Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
 In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and procedures, especially in commissioning environments.
 Demonstrated ability to implement cost-effective measures and optimize production processes.
 Proficient in utilizing ERP solutions for process optimization.
 Substantial experience in implementing state-of-the-art automation systems and incorporating AI solutions.
